John Denver became a star thanks to the folk songs he wrote, most of which are situated in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have been a major influence on many to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame states the fact that John Denver is unlike any other artist who embodies Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fames' first inductee, was honored with this honor in 2011. Denver has become the image of Colorado for many people around the world. In my travels I've had the pleasure of meeting people who are from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform that you're from Colorado, the first words they'll say is Oh John Denver. Brown explained. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a solo artist after having worked with small folk groups. The song was written by Bill Danoff. Danoff created the track along with Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver was introduced to an earlier version it was clear that the song could be a hit single. Danoff recorded the track just a few days later after performing it to the awe-inspiring crowd on the streets of Washington D.C.
